Formstelle

Background

Formstelle is a design studio for interior architecture and product design founded in Munich in 2001 by Claudia Kleine and Jörg Kürschner (both Dipl.-Ing.). Now based in Grünwald near Munich, its interdisciplinary team works across interior architecture, hotel design, product design and corporate identity.

Signature Style

The studio describes its work as the design of space, product and concept, focused on the relationship between people and products. Furniture design is often accompanied by extensive research and material experimentation, supported by its own model-making workshop for details and prototypes.

Notable Works

For ZEITRAUM Formstelle designed the MORPH chair (2009) and its family, the TURNTABLE and TWIST tables, ZENSO, SIMPLE, KUYU and the ONDE sideboards. Other product clients include Rolf Benz, Thonet, Leolux, Montis and Christine Kröncke.

Legacy

For more than twenty years the studio has shaped brands, interiors and furniture; its MORPH family is a defining expression of ZEITRAUM's pure solid-wood design language.
