Collection Story
Origin
Sheru is a program of seating by EOOS for Walter Knoll. EOOS dates the Sheru project 2020 / 2024 on its own page, and Walter Knoll's Sheru Lounge Chair page notes that the careers of the design trio EOOS began in Herrenberg at Walter Knoll, where numerous products have been realized together. The first version of the plastic seat shell is filled with polyurethane foam, and the later Sheru Evo model does without foam.
Design Language
EOOS describes the Sheru seat shells as consisting entirely of developable surfaces, composed from different cutting patterns for seat, backrest and armrests. A horizontal seam along the seat surface made it possible to mount various standard bases. Walter Knoll calls the openings in the shell chAIR technology and lets the frame be chosen from solid wood or tubular steel, with four-star or five-star bases.
