Origin
GUBI's specification tables name the collection GUBI 3D, credit it to Komplot Design and give 2003 as the design year. GUBI writes that the chair launched in 2003 as one of the first dining chairs to join the GUBI Collection and has since become a brand hallmark, and it calls the design the first furniture design based on moulding three-dimensional veneer.
Design Language
According to GUBI, the three-dimensional shape gives a comfortable seat and a sense of lightness, because all edges point away from the user. The collection is described as balancing soft and hard materials, and innovation and simplicity.
