Collection Story
Origin
Groundpiece was designed by Antonio Citterio for Flexform in 2001. Flexform calls it an undeniable best-seller that transformed the concept of the sofa: a deconstructed line with new proportions, low and deep, for a more relaxed and casual way of sitting, responding to the way people now rest, read, work and even dine on the sofa.
Design Language
The sofa sets the tone for the whole family: low, deep proportions and generous comfort. Flexform lists a low upholstered bed, a metal bookcase and storage tables under the same name, the last two clad entirely in cowhide, all by Citterio and all dated 2001.
