Collection Story
Origin
Cab is Mario Bellini's leather-covered seating family for Cassina. The Cab 412 and Cab 413 chairs both carry the heading "Design by Mario Bellini, 1977", and Cassina lists the family in its I Contemporanei collection.
Design Language
Cassina describes the Cab chairs and the Cab 410 stool as designs that start from the way a skin covers a skeleton. On the Cab Night bed the structure and legs are covered in leather, with saddle stitching visible at the joints. The Cab 412 configurator has three kinds of saddle leather: standard, hand-shaded and Plus.
