Brand Story
Heritage
Zanotta was founded in 1954 by Aurelio Zanotta. The company initially focused on sofas and armchairs, at a time when upholstered furniture was largely the domain of artisan upholstery workshops. Zanotta saw furniture design as a form of cultural expression worthy of the respect given to painting and sculpture, and moved towards "cultured" design, becoming one of the companies that wrote the first significant pages in the history of Italian design.
Philosophy
Guided by instinct and a strong interest in emerging materials and technologies, Zanotta built its reputation on formal innovation and technological research, supported by continuous improvement in materials and production processes. Its catalogue of more than 150 items brings together the visions of 148 designers from 18 countries, united by a flair for originality.

Iconic Works
Zanotta has worked with Achille Castiglioni, Marco Zanuso, Ettore Sottsass, Alessandro Mendini, Bruno Munari, Joe Colombo, Max Bill, Carlo Mollino and De Pas, D'Urbino, Lomazzi. Long-running best sellers include Sacco, Mezzadro, Sciangai, Quaderna, Tonietta and Leonardo. The company counts 58 award-winning designs, 5 Compassi d'Oro and 336 pieces in the permanent collections of 60 museums.

Today
Since the 1960s Zanotta has worked on the international scene. In April 2023 it was acquired by Cassina and became part of the Haworth Lifestyle Design group, alongside Cappellini, Ceccotti, Karakter, Poltrona Frau and others. Its range covers sofas, beds, chairs, tables, accessories and outdoor pieces, including numbered and limited editions.
