Overview
Grangala is a bed designed by Gabriele Rosa in 2018. Two parallel upholstered panels of different sizes form its distinctive double headboard.
Construction
Naturally varnished curved-beech strips are mounted on the steel structure. Steel feet and the shelf between the headboard panels are covered in matching cowhide pigmentato 90. The base and headboard use polyurethane and heat-bound polyester-fibre upholstery.
Specifications
Fabric or leather coverings can be removed. The selected 160 x 200 cm mattress version measures 221 x 226 cm. Its largest vertical drawing value is 106 cm, but the value is not labelled on the drawing.
Story
Two planes and a useful void
Grangala's two headboard panels differ in scale and stand apart from one another. Zanotta describes the opening between them as more than a visual gesture: it contains a cowhide-covered shelf while keeping the bed's main lines uncluttered.
Configurable dimensions
The official sheet lists four standard mattress widths and both single and separate springing. Longer 210 and 220 cm mattress versions are available on request, and the back of the headboard may be fully covered in the same fabric or leather as the bed.
