Brand Story
Heritage
Secto Design began when its founder, Tuula Jusélius, met designer Seppo Koho in 1995. The two shared a respect for Northern wood, Scandinavian design and professional woodworking, and started out making innovative wooden furniture. Customers could find no wooden lamps to match it, and that need led to the conical Secto 4200 pendant, launched in 1999, which became the backbone of the whole collection.
Philosophy
Secto Design makes contemporary wooden lamps from high-quality, PEFC-certified Finnish birch, sustainably and responsibly produced in Finland. The lamps combine Scandinavian design principles with Finnish craftsmanship: the light source is hidden and the light emerges through soft patterns of birch slats. The company actively fights counterfeits and has sealed every original lamp made since December 2017 with a hologram label.

- Octo 4240 and Victo 4250 pendants
- Owalo, Petite and Kontro families

Today
What began as a small workshop in Heinola has grown into a factory with about 40 employees, owned entirely by Secto Design since 2017 and led by the second generation of the Jusélius family. The collection covers pendant, floor, table, wall and ceiling lamps, and around 95% of production is exported to more than 80 countries.
