Heritage
Nemo Lighting was founded in Milan in 1993 by Franco Cassina and has its roots in a history of innovation that has long inspired Italian design. The company is owned by Federico Palazzari.
Philosophy
Nemo works on two fronts. With "The Masters" collection it produces a selection of lamps designed by masters of the twentieth century, among them Le Corbusier, Charlotte Perriand, Vico Magistretti, Franco Albini and Kazuhide Takahama. Alongside these projects it creates contemporary icons with designers including Mario Bellini, Álvaro Siza, Jean Nouvel, Andrea Branzi, Bernhard Osann and Arihiro Miyake. Le Monde's Marie Godfrain described Nemo as "an outsider with its unique collection from outstanding architects of the 20th century".

Iconic Works
The Le Corbusier lamps are at the heart of the catalogue: Lampe de Marseille and its Mini version, Applique de Marseille, Escargot, Parliament, Lampe Cabanon, Applique Radieuse, Le Cadre Parfait and the Projecteur 165 / 365 family.

Today
In 2020 Nemo acquired the Turin-based architectural lighting company ILTI Luce, followed by a majority stake in Reggiani Illuminazione (founded in Brianza in 1957); in 2024 the group added FontanaArte and Driade. Nemo Lighting, ILTI Luce, Reggiani and FontanaArte operate as separate companies within the group. Nemo Lighting is headquartered in Milan, has branches in France and the United States, and distributes in more than 80 countries. It also supports design culture through exhibitions, institutional collaborations and events celebrating leading architects and designers.
