Description

Overview

The Yunity evo is a stackable chair designed by EOOS for Walter Knoll for conferences, symposiums and seminars. Models 1650 (no armrests) and 1651 (with armrests) are listed in the manufacturer's technical data.

Construction

A plastic seat shell with 98 percent post-industrial recyclate carries a removable cover with 3D mesh in place of foam. Two pairs of tubular steel legs finish in powder-coated matt black, matt bronze or polished chrome.

Specifications

  • Size (1650): 52.5 cm wide, 59 cm deep, 84 cm high
  • Seat height: 47 cm; seat depth 43.5 cm
  • Stacking: up to 15 chairs

Story

Joining, numbering, stacking

Walter Knoll describes the Yunity evo as a companion for moments when people come together. A row connector, seat numbering with magnetic elements and stacking up to 15 chairs give order and flexibility, and armrests can be retrofitted.

Brief from EOOS

The EOOS project page says Walter Knoll lacked a stackable chair that could be joined in rows and numbered, with or without armrests, using fully separable and recyclable materials at low cost. EOOS answered with two identical pairs of thin tubular steel legs and a replaceable cover with a sewn-in 3D mesh.
