Description
Overview
Kube is EOOS auditorium seating for Poltrona Frau. Its automatic folding seat allows individual units to close into a compact linear module, a concept the manufacturer relates to amphitheatre architecture.

Construction
The public specification names a metal-and-wood frame, polyurethane padding, elastic-belt suspension and anti-noise nylon joints. Rows are installed on metal feet finished with scratch- and shock-resistant epoxy powder. Pelle Frau leather, fabric and velvet are named upholstery categories.
Story
Amphitheatre reference
Poltrona Frau says Kube grew from formal research into ancient architecture. EOOS translated the amphitheatre seat into a repeated contemporary row in which closed seats visually merge.
Award recognition
The page records the Compasso d'Oro 2004 for Kube. That date is retained specifically as the documented award year rather than converted into an unsupported design year. The automatic closing action defines the sequence.
