Description
Overview
Yumi is an armchair by Niels Bendtsen for Moroso, built on a very simple principle with a sophisticated language. Its outlines are sinuous and its shape wraps around the sitter, with a hollow backrest formed by a bent bow.
Construction
The backrest is cold-injected polyurethane over an internal steel frame. The seat is cold-injected polyurethane over an internal wooden structure, and the base is powder-coated steel. Seat and backrest can have different coverings, and the covers are not removable.
Versions
A woven playful version and a more sophisticated upholstered version suit homes and commercial spaces, indoors and outdoors. Base colours are Oxidored RAL 3009, Anthracite RAL 7016 and Concrete NCS S 5005-Y20R; the woven pattern comes in Khaki and Safari.
Story
A bent bow
Yumi is a neat representation of a harmonious bent bow, and the hollow backrest keeps the armchair clean and light. Seat and backrest are separate, which allows many combinations of fabrics, leathers and finishes.
Woven or upholstered
The style ranges from a woven version to an upholstered one, and the family is suitable for residential and commercial spaces, indoor and outdoor.
Frame and base
The backrest has a steel frame inside, the seat a wooden structure inside, and the base is powder-coated steel in three colours.
