Volare Due Bed

Overview

The Volare Due is a bed by Roberto Lazzeroni with a solid ash headboard structure, a tulipwood base entirely upholstered in leather or saddle leather, and two soft cushions fixed to the headboard with leather belts.

Construction

• Headboard structure: solid ash with a triangular section, in a Moka stain (61), resting on the floor on black plastic protective caps
• Headboard: solid beech with internal birch plywood crossbars and hardboard infill panels
• Base: tulipwood bed frame boards and footboard, entirely upholstered in Pelle Frau® leather or Saddle Extra
• Fixing: metal spacers and plates in a gunmetal grey finish attach the headboard to the structure
• Other parts: central crossbar and foot, corner plates and cable brackets in black painted sheet steel; front feet in solid ash with felt pads
• Cushions: polyester wadding and cotton canvas, covered in Pelle Frau® leather or fabric with leather piping; the belts run through gunmetal grey metal eyelets, with logo buttons at the back

Tension and suspension

With the Volare Due bed, Roberto Lazzeroni plays with the contrast between tension and suspension. The contrast accentuates the volumes of the bed and the combinations of leather, wood, saddle leather and fabric.
