Supermoon Bed

Overview

Supermoon Bed is Giampiero Tagliaferri's adaptation of the Supermoon seating system for the night area. The mattress sits inside an upholstered shell-shaped base, and the enveloping headboard echoes the backrests and armrests of the seating system. A sommier with multiple pocket springs supports the mattress.

Construction

The base rests on large discs in stainless steel or bronze-coloured metal. The bases are MDF, sheathed in polished stainless steel or sheathed in metal with a Bronze-coloured polished, anti-fingerprint varnish. The frame is a one-piece free-standing structure in extra-thick plywood, and the one-piece headboard is plywood with variable-density polyurethane padding. Frame and headboard carry a heat-bonded fibre and white cotton laminate beneath the upholstery, which is fabric or leather and completely removable.

From the seating system to the bedroom

Supermoon Bed picks up the concept of the Supermoon seating system and develops it as a piece made specifically for the bedroom. It is an evolution of the modular system and expresses an ideal of timeless beauty, capable of creating a unique, cosy atmosphere all around.

A headboard that recalls a lunar phase

The headboard is super-comfy and enveloping, and its design echoes the backrests and armrests of the seating system, poetically reminiscent of a lunar phase. It becomes the stylistic hallmark of the bed, which stands on large stainless steel or bronze-coloured discs.
