Description
Overview
Giampiero Tagliaferri's Supermoon for Minotti is a seating system with sculptural forms and a distinct 1970s style. Backrests and armrests, poetically evoking a lunar phase, are its stylistic leitmotif; together with the seat cushions and marble or wood tops, they are held and partly hidden by an upholstered base that sits on a floating metal frame. The range covers sofas, end and central elements, chaise longues, coffee tables, benches and an armchair with a lacquered base.

Construction
Plywood of different thicknesses is covered by resilient, variable-density foam inside quilted heat-bonded polyester fibre on white cotton. The seat structure is concave to receive its cushion. Both seat and back cushions are padded with channelled goose down (Assopiuma Gold Label), and a perimeter zipper holds the seat cushion. A perimeter metal frame in Chrome or polished anti-fingerprint Bronze stands on black polypropylene feet, and 20 mm bevelled tops are marble or MDF. Upholstery lifts off completely in every version.
Specifications

Story
One piece that multiplies
Minotti says Supermoon began as a standalone nomadic piece able to multiply and evolve into a true modular system. Its plastic lines and strong personality let it live as a monolithic living-room element or grow into flexible configurations.
Brushing together
Side by side, the modules read more as a gathering of single elements than as one system. They join by brushing against each other, which makes a double flare at the base that, with a decorative geometry, marks each element's boundary. The page describes the compositional freedom as an unseen yet consistent formal language, and shows Supermoon as the lead of the brand's 2024 advertising, set in modernist rooms with Seventies influences.
