Overview
The Stay Bed brings the enclosing form of GUBI's Stay collection into the bedroom. Designed by Space Copenhagen, it is a double bed whose flowing outline joins the frame to a headboard that wraps gently around the sleeping area.
Construction
The structure comprises five core components and slats for assembly and long-term stability. A wood frame sits beneath full upholstery, leaving the selected textile as the visible surface. The saved variant uses Bonito by JAB and the High Back configuration.
Specifications
The 180 × 200 cm double-bed variant measures 80.3 in wide × 89.4 in deep × 47.3 in high overall. GUBI lists Bonito 095 as fabric with a durability rating of 100,000 Martindale.
Story
Extending Stay into the Bedroom
Space Copenhagen's Stay Bed adapts the collection's continuous, enclosing gesture to a double bed. The headboard and upholstered surround are composed as one curving outline rather than as separate decorative panels. GUBI describes this line as resembling a single pencil stroke, giving the bed a unified profile from the headboard into the lower frame.
A Textile-Led Expression
Because the bed is fully upholstered, GUBI notes that the chosen textile becomes its only visible material. The brand describes darker selections as emphasizing the sculptural outline and lighter selections as giving the form a softer appearance.
