Wonder Sofa

Overview

The Wonder Sofa is credited to Space Copenhagen on GUBI's site, where it sits under Seating, Sofas & Beds. GUBI says Wonder builds on the virtues of 70s lounge furniture, which it calls informal, generous and playful, and brings them into the present with an elegantly minimal and sleek frame. The tables name the collection Wonder and give 2019 as the design year.

Construction

The softly folded cushion over the backrest is the feature GUBI singles out; it calls it relaxed and neat at the same time. The page adds that a choice of textiles and seam detailing on the backrest cushion lets Wonder suit both formal and more playful spaces. The default item 10058015 is a 3-seater with armrests in Karakorum by Dedar (001), a fabric with a 40.000 Martindale rating, and has a fixed cover.

Lounge furniture of the 70s, made minimal

GUBI describes Wonder as drawing on the virtues of 70s lounge furniture: informal, generous and playful. The sleek frame, in GUBI's words, is elegantly minimal, and the Wonder Sofa celebrates comfort and ease.

Textiles and seams

The softly folded cushion over the backrest is relaxed and neat at the same time, according to the page. Textile choice and seam detailing on that cushion are what allow Wonder to fit formal as well as more playful settings.
