Overview

The Soufflot Medium Settee is a two-place settee by Jean-Philippe Nuel for Ligne Roset, offered in 52 covering materials.

Construction

Mechanically-soldered tubular steel forms the armrests and back, padded with foam and 110 g/m² polyester quilting. A 3-layer particleboard frame carries the seat. Beneath it sits a base of solid ash stained black or solid oak in natural varnish. Covers are detachable by a professional.

Two places on steel, particleboard and wood

At 1,670 mm wide and 760 mm deep, the medium settee has a seat height of 460 mm and seats two. Its armrests and back are built on soldered steel tubing, the seat on layered particleboard, and a choice of black-stained ash or varnished oak raises the whole frame.

Foams, quilting and seams

The seat is padded with two grades of high resilience polyurethane foam, 40 and 37 kg/m3, while the back combines an injected polyurethane foam of 35 kg/m3 with a 37 kg/m3 foam layer. Polyester quilting of 110 g/m² covers both. 5 mm baguette stitching edges the back and seat, and in eight named fabrics (ARDA, APPA, GENTLE, MAXI, MOBY, MOSAÏC 2, SEA and UNIFORME MÉLANGE) there are no simple seams on the inside back or in the centre of the seat.
