Overview
The Slit Table is a geometric side table from HAY inspired by paper origami techniques. Its slim frame appears folded beneath the tabletop, creating a simple yet sculptural form that HAY calls reminiscent of traditional Japanese paper art.

Story
An origami reference
HAY says the Slit Table is inspired by paper origami techniques. The table is available in a selection of different shapes and sizes and in a variety of colours and finishes. HAY describes it as compact and versatile, for single use or for clusters in private or public settings.
Credit and the wood extension
HAY's product sheet for the steel Slit Table reads 'Design by HAY, 2014', so no individual designer is named. HAY presents the Slit Table Wood as an extension to the Slit Table collection: a wooden table inspired by the same paper origami techniques, available in a variety of sizes, shapes, wood types and colours.
