Description
Overview
Siena is a bed by Naoto Fukasawa with an airy image. A projecting base defines the entire perimeter of the bed, and at the back it becomes a surface for books and accessories. The backrest is inclined.
Construction
Steel tube and steel profiles are the inner frame; a layer of polyurethane foam (flexible, cold shaped) and a polyester fibre cover pad it. The base-frame is tubular steel, the slatted base uses wood multi-layered slats, and the ferrules are of thermoplastic material.
Specifications
Overall size: – x 244 x 77 cm (W x D x H). Cover: fabric or leather.
Story
A base that runs around the bed
What strikes first in Siena, the manufacturer says, is its airy image, created by the projecting base that defines the entire perimeter of the bed. Along the back that base becomes a convenient surface to place books and accessories.
Inclined backrest
Naoto Fukasawa designed the bed in 2007. Its backrest is inclined to offer an ideal relaxing position, and the bed is described as impressive from behind.
