Description
Overview
Savoia Wooden Chair puts a wood seat and back on the Savoia frame, designed by Edward Barber and Jay Osgerby for Kartell. The Savoia data sheet, headed 2026, gives the wood seat its own pages, with codes 2405, 2406 and 2407.
Construction
The sheet lists a 2D curved laminated seat and back, veneered with reconstituted Nordic oak and finished with a matte coating, on a painted or polished die-cast aluminium frame. The wood versions are marked as made of FSC certified wood.

Story
Wood on the Savoia frame
Kartell's maintenance leaflet describes the wooden version as a seat and backrest in 2D curved plywood with reconstituted Nordic oak veneer or painted black with a matt finish, fitted to a polished or painted die-cast aluminium frame. The leaflet explains that the wooden versions use FSC certified material and that FSC certification promotes transparency and traceability of forest-based materials through audits by independent bodies.

Care of wooden surfaces
The same leaflet gives separate care instructions for the wood version: a soft natural-fibre cloth slightly dampened with water, a mild non-abrasive detergent if necessary, and no contact with water or other liquids beyond that.
