Description
Overview
Alain Gilles designed the Saragosse low table around the image of a viaduct spanning an obstacle. Three broad supports rise from a circular structure to carry a corsé marble top.
Materials
The round marble top is set into a structure and base of black-stained solid ash with a natural varnish. The dark timber frame follows the edge of the stone and continues into three legs.
Dimensions
This exact corsé marble low table measures 1,100 mm in diameter and 315 mm high.
Story
A table drawn like a viaduct
Saragosse translates the idea of a viaduct into a low circular table. The broad legs read as supports beneath the stone top, with the black-stained ash structure tracing a dark line around its edge.
Corsé marble and solid ash
The marble brings an irregular brown and black surface pattern, while the natural-varnished ash base provides a restrained architectural frame. At 1,100 mm across, the low table has a broader, lower presence than the smaller sofa end table in the family.
