Description

Overview

The S 260 is an event-seating chair by Delphin Design, listed on Thonet's page with the year 2018. It has a polypropylene shell on a chrome-plated tubular steel frame and comes with or without armrests. Its simplified linking mechanism joins the chairs into rows without tools, and the chairs also stack vertically.

Construction

Thonet says the frame construction means the chairs barely need to be lifted when they are linked. The page states that the S 260 meets the requirements for row linking, including being panic proof, under the EU standard DIN 14703; the brochure gives the standard as DIN EN 14703. A stacking trolley is available.

Specifications

  • Dimensions (S 260): W 57 cm x D 54 cm x H 82 cm
  • Seat height / weight: 45 cm, 6.4 kg
  • Row-linking axis distance: 52.5 cm
  • Stacking spacing: 85 mm

Story

An auditorium chair for 2018

Thonet introduced the S 260 at Orgatec 2018 as a new auditorium chair. The press release describes it as building on the design of the successful S 160 collection by Delphin Design, with especially space-saving row seating, and says it is available with a chrome-plated tubular steel frame and the seat shell versions of the S 160 range.

A-stacker

The press release calls the S 260 an A-stacker that can be quickly assembled and disassembled and stacked vertically thanks to its linking mechanism, with or without armrests or a combination of both.
