Overview
The Polygon Wire Table is an accent table designed by Studio 7.5. Herman Miller lists production from 2015 and offers round, triangle and hexagon tops in three sizes.
Construction
A symmetrical wire base uses minimal material for maximum strength and scales in size and height. The tops are painted Formcoat, finished in the same colour as the base (black, white or graphite).
Specifications
The largest top size on the drawing is 48 and the tallest listed height is 26 (inches on this US sheet). The drawing does not label which number is which axis.
Story
Tables with the same DNA
Studio 7.5 designed Polygon Wire as a family in which large and small tables share one structure. The designers say they aimed for useful and elegant solutions so that the tables can flock together, and Herman Miller describes a gathering of nested tables as an organic composition.
Pure geometry in wire
Herman Miller presents the table as an expression of pure geometry. The wire base is symmetrical, uses little material for its strength, and gives a logical way to scale the table in both size and height while the top and base share one colour.
