Overview
The Plinth Grand is a monumental and multifunctional design by Norm Architects for Audo Copenhagen. Shaped into a perfectly balanced rectangle, it serves as a statement-making coffee table or a low-lying display for decorative objects, and it is a sculptural object in its own right with a light-reflecting finish.
Construction
Marble plates 2 cm thick are cut with edges milled at 45 degrees and glued together in mitre joints, with the corners reinforced by excess marble from production. A plywood bottom plate carries the adjustable PA glides. The pieces are assembled by hand so that the forms line up, and the finish is honed and coated.

Each Plinth Grand is assembled by hand for the perfect alignment, in marble with a honed, coated surface. Because marble is a natural material, every piece is one of a kind and the surface can differ from the photographs.
