Description

Overview

Pix Lamp Ø20 EU White is a spherical pendant whose shade is made from recycled plastic waste. Each shade has its own unique colour composition, and the lamp hangs from a white textile cord.

Construction

Plastic waste in various shades of white is mixed and granulated before the shade is formed by rotational moulding from 90% LDPE and 10% PE. The lamp has a white canopy and an aluminium socket. It weighs 0.3 kg and takes an E27 bulb.

Specifications

Ø20 cm (Pix Lamp Ø20 EU White, 607900). Rated for 220-240 V at 50/60 Hz, class II, IP20, with a 10 W maximum load; the bulb is not included.

Story

A spherical pendant in granulated waste

Pix Lamp reinterprets the archetypical spherical pendant. The familiar silhouette is kept, while the surface of the shade takes its look from a composition of recycled plastic waste.

Launched in 2023

Simon Legald designed Pix Lamp, and Normann Copenhagen launched it in 2023. The plastic is granulated in various shades of white, which gives the pixelated surface its texture. The thick material looks opaque when the lamp is off and translucent when it is lit.
