Description

Overview

Notch Bed Frame is Normann Copenhagen's first bed frame design, drawn by Simon Legald from 100% solid pine planks. Its joints use the traditional notching technique, where one plank is inserted into another. This item is the 160 x 200 cm Pine frame.

Construction

The frame is solid pine from FSC certification (FSC-C163461) and other controlled sources, and each plank is lacquered with a clear, matte UV varnish. The notched joints give structural integrity and a decorative detail at the corners. The frame has no mattress or bed slats.

Specifications

160 x 200 x 33 cm (Notch Bed Frame 160 x 200 cm Pine, 608260), weight 30.5 kg.

Story

Notching as the main characteristic

Simon Legald's design is inspired by the traditional notching technique, in which one plank is inserted into another to form the joints. Normann Copenhagen sees this joining method as the main characteristic of the design, a decorative detail at the corners that makes it stand out from other wooden bed frames.

Pine that develops a patina

The durable and welcoming appeal of the pine wood will develop a patina over time. A clear, matte UV varnish on each plank protects the wood from the sun's rays while preserving its natural beauty.
