Description
Overview
Roberto Lazzeroni drew the Othello Rectangular Table as a contrast: supports that have the presence of a geometric sculpture below a top that is soft and curvilinear, in marble or in light, semi-transparent smoked glass.
Construction
- Base: supports of solid ash whose section is triangular and sharp-edged, stained wenge or moka
- Marble top: 2 cm marble, brilliant or semi-brilliant, backed by a technical mesh and an HPL undertop
- Glass top: tempered smoked grey glass, 1.2 cm thick, joined to the base with visible stainless-steel spacers
- Edge: a diamond cut around the perimeter of the top, which picks up the triangular section of the supports
Specifications
- Overall size: 260 x 110 x 74.5 cm (5626620)
Story
Supports as sculpture
This table stands on supports of solid ash, cut to a triangular section with sharp edges. The brand compares their presence to a geometric sculpture, and a diamond-cut detail along the top picks up the same angular profile.
Wood with stone or glass
Othello begins where pure, natural materials meet: skilfully worked wood set beside stone or glass, so that decoration becomes unnecessary. Lazzeroni looks back to the building discipline of Italian design from the 1950s and 60s. On this table the soft, curvilinear top is marble in several finishes, or light and semi-transparent smoked glass, which brings out the architectural solidity of the supports.
