Description
Overview
Orbit Desk is a desk by Faye Toogood for Tacchini. Its edges are soft and rounded, and the contrasting leather inlay set into the top draws a pleasant path for the hands.
Construction
Lacquered MDF with a hide insert makes the top; MDF covered in hide makes the base. The legs are curved wood wrapped in leather, enriched by soft pebble-like wooden forms.
Specifications
Overall size: 141 x 65 x 75 cm (W x D x H, 0OBTSC140).
Story
Irregular ovals
Irregular elliptical shapes mark the desk, and the concentric ovals are intentionally non-uniform, echoing Faye Toogood's tactile and emotional way of working. A leather inlay sits at the centre of the lacquered top.
Name and origin
The desk is named Orbit for the way light wraps around its surfaces and follows the gentle wooden curves. Cosmic, the collection created with Faye Toogood, is where this desk originates.
