Overview
Nena Lounge is a 2023 armchair by Lanzavecchia + Wai. Zanotta describes it as an extension of the Nena seating family for residential, contract and HoReCa settings across public and private interiors.
Construction
A tapered tubular steel frame supports two overlapping seat cushions and a suspended, sculpted backrest. The seat combines graduated polyurethane with DuPont Dacron, while the back uses self-extinguishing polyurethane foam.
Upholstery
The fabric or leather cover is removable. A concealed zip beneath a ruffle finishes the rear profile.
Story
An embracing gesture
Lanzavecchia + Wai say the design began with the comfort of an embrace. The semicircular backrest surrounds the sitter and also serves as an armrest.
Light frame, generous padding
Zanotta sets the padded forms against a slim frame. An air gap between seat and back, together with tapered, slightly inclined legs, gives the chair its dynamic character and visual lightness.
