Litos

Overview

Litos is a sofa system by Sebastian Herkner, dated 2020. It offers separate and modular units with low back rests and uneven rounded shapes, and Cappellini says it was inspired by the rocky Salento coastline.

Construction

The structure is wood fibre conglomerate panels and pine plywood. Seat padding is multi-density polyurethane foam, memory-foam and polyester fibre; the backrest padding combines polyester fibre with multi-density polyurethane foam. Covers come in fabric and leather, and the feet are black plastic.

The sheet lists many single elements and compositions. The single element drawn as LT_1B / LT_5B measures 129 x 123 x 67 cm.

Coastline and interiors

Cappellini says Sebastian Herkner drew the sofa's low backs and uneven rounded shapes from the rocky Salento coastline, so that nature becomes the protagonist of interior spaces.

Separate and modular units

The system is described as a leisurely invitation to relax and convene, suited to domestic settings and hospitality lounge areas. Modules are also available without armrests or with a single armrest, and free cushions can be placed at will.
