Description
Overview
The Pipe chaise longue is where Sebastian Herkner's language for Moroso stretches out into a longer seat. A cylindrical backrest curves to follow the back and the side, forming a continuous support. The chaise longue is made in right and left versions.
Construction
Multilayer wood panels make up the seat structure, padded with foam of differentiated density. The backrest foam is moulded cold over the frame. Underneath runs a self-supporting tubular steel frame, finished in one of five ways. The upholstery stays fixed to the piece. Unloaded, the seat stands 40 cm high.

Story
A bold form that learns to curve
The truest rest, in this piece, begins where a bold form learns to curve. The seat lengthens and the backrest bends around the back and the side, so that one continuous support invites you to lie down, read or linger. The steel tube base carries the whole with the confidence of a self-supporting structure and the visual lightness of essential forms.
Rigour and softness
The chaise longue is perhaps the piece where the dialogue between rigour and softness is clearest: the clean geometry of the tube on one side, a soft seat and an enveloping backrest on the other. It does not impose a posture but suggests one, and it can stand alone in the middle of a room or by a window.
