Description

Overview

The Taru Armchair is the one-place seat of the Taru range that Sebastian Herkner designed for Ligne Roset. Its base is fully upholstered, and the seat is worked together with a gently curved back.

Construction

Arms and back are tubular steel joined by mechanical soldering, wrapped in foam and polyester quilting. The seat structure is three-layer particleboard and plywood, suspended on elastic webbing and topped with high resilience Bultex foam. Covers come in fabric or leather.

Specifications

H 750 x W 820 x D 830 mm, seat height 430 mm (29 x 32 x 32 in, seat 17 in on the US page). Weight 30 kg.

Story

Comfortable and welcoming

Ligne Roset's text for the Taru range says the designer wanted a comfortable place to sit that shows the craftsmanship and expertise of the house. The fully upholstered base gives the model its character, and the seat is intertwined with the subtly curved backrest in a bi-material treatment.

Worth seeing from behind

The brand says the rear section of the back may be customised as desired, so that fabrics and leathers and their colours can be mixed. It describes the model as having two faces, worth showing off as much from the back as from the front, and offers an optional back cushion and a footstool with an identical base.
