Description
Overview
The Le Mura armchair is a single element of Mario Bellini's modular system, which Tacchini reissued in 2022. The system comes from 1970s radical design and joins elements of different shapes and sizes in virtually infinite configurations, and the armchair can theoretically be combined without limit.
Construction
A wooden frame sits under multi-density polyurethane foam, and the cover is fabric or leather and removable. Two finishes are offered for the clasp and zipper.
Specifications
W 128 x H 66 cm (0LMRPL120).
Story
One module of a larger system
The armchair is an integral part of Le Mura, the modular system by Mario Bellini that Tacchini reissued in 2022. It is a manifesto of radical design from the 1970s, and the armchair can in theory be joined with the other elements without limit.
Named after Roman walls
The project takes its name from the large stones that made up Roman walls. Like those stones, the elements fit into spaces of different sizes without losing an intense stylistic identity. Le Mura is a project of inexhaustible strength.
