Mario Bellini's Le Bambole meets Stella McCartney in this sofa, dated 2022 on the B&B Italia page. Construction
The sofa combines polyurethane foam and a polyester fibre cover with a polyethylene frame and an elastic section made either of thermoplastic elastomer or of expanded polyurethane. The maker states that the piece is designed to be taken fully apart and that its upholstery is a 100% biodegradable polyester free of toxins.

Model LBA3_MC: 244 cm wide, 116 cm deep, 75 cm high, seat height 42 cm. The model LBA2_MC measures 169 x 91 x 75 cm.
Story
Her first work for interiors
B&B Italia describes the capsule as the first interiors collaboration ever undertaken by Stella McCartney, whom it calls a British conscious pioneer. According to the page, it was unveiled at her “Future of Fashion” material innovation installation during Milan Design Week in June 2022, and it grew out of her personal, long-standing passion for the work of Bellini.
Fifty years of Le Bambole
The project marks the 50th anniversary of Le Bambole. Circularity guided it: the new Le Bambole can be taken completely apart, so repairs are easier and materials can be used as responsibly as possible when the piece reaches the end of its life.
