La Bambola for outdoors
La Bambola Outdoor is the 2024 outdoor version of Mario Bellini's Bambola armchair. B&B Italia states that it retains the soft curves and welcoming shape of the original while introducing weather-resistant, high-performance materials.

Breathable and water-resistant layers
Flexible cold-shaped polyurethane foam, polyester fibre and breathable mesh form the upholstery. The elastic section uses thermoplastic elastomer or expanded polyurethane. Polyethylene provides the frame and ferrules, with plastic spacers; the feet cover is thermoplastic polyurethane. A PU-coated PES fabric supplies the waterproof cover cloth, while the removable surface cover is limited to selected fabrics.

Story
A new member of Le Bambole
The official page places this outdoor armchair within Mario Bellini's Le Bambole collection, designed in 1972 and awarded the Compasso d'Oro in 1979. Those dates belong to the original collection; the dedicated outdoor product page and sheet both identify this version as 2024.
Material change for exterior use
The outdoor edition preserves the familiar curved, welcoming outline while changing the internal specification. Breathable mesh, polyethylene, thermoplastic components and a one-side PU-coated waterproof cloth support the maker's claims for weather resistance and durability.
