Description

Overview

Layout Studio is an office benching system that Herman Miller describes as a home base within the workplace. It integrates an ergonomic desk with personalised accessories and storage, and is offered in seated and standing heights.

Construction

A performance rail carries screens, storage, work tools, monitor arms and lights so that work surfaces stay free, and twin beams support the work surfaces, cable management, screens and other elements. Power and data enter through the floor, run through a cable management tray and are reached through cutouts in the work surface.

Specifications

The specs page lists laminate, wood and veneer, textile and glass finishes. It gives sample planning layouts of 4 to 6 workstations.

Story

Designed around the person, the landscape and the world

Herman Miller frames Layout Studio around four ideas: the person, who edits a workstation through storage and work tools; the landscape, from individual workspaces to project team tables; the world, with a universal foundation and subtle changes for different cultures and countries; and the future, through scaling the system up or down.

Developed by international teams

The company states that Layout Studio was initially developed by its International R&D teams in Europe and Asia, that its design was driven by global research, and that it is available on six continents.
