Lawrence Sofa

Overview

Lawrence is the sofa of Rodolfo Dordoni's Lawrence seating system for Minotti, listed with the 2017 Collection label. It is offered in a high-armrest and a low-armrest version, and the sheet lists sofas from 204 cm up to 414 cm in two seat-cushion series.

Construction

• Structure: solid wood on webbing of rubber-rich elastic; the seat structure is variable-density polyurethane foam, hollowed to cradle the cushion; armrests and backs carry a breathable heat-bonded fibre quilt backed with white hypoallergenic cotton
• Cushions: Assopiuma Gold Label goose down in channels; reversible seat cushions around a polyurethane core wrapped in Memory Foam; optional "Decor" cushions (50x50 and 43x43 cm)
• Base: polished Black-Nickel metal perimeter frame above a set-back metal base painted matt Black, with adjustable feet and polyethylene glides

Two armrests

Minotti's page offers Lawrence with either a high or a low armrest, each correlated with a different design aesthetic. The high armrest is the thinner one; the low armrest is more substantial and, the page says, the perfect place to rest the cushion in order to lie comfortably on the sofa.

A floating base

The metal perimeter frame in a Black-Nickel finish stresses the formal aesthetic of the sofa, while a set-back perimeter base in painted black metal alloy supports it and gives it the appearance of floating above the floor. The page adds that this detail also protects the lower part of the sofa.
