Description

Overview

Kwado is a padded indoor armchair by Sebastian Herkner, dated 2025. The shell interlocks with the base, and the seat is defined by an indentation.

Construction

Sheet entries: structure of foamed polyurethane carrying a metallic insert plus elastic belts; padding of fibre and multi-density polyurethane foam; swivelling base in black varnished steel, with or without a spring return; grey felt pads under the feet. The cover is fabric or leather, and the base and backrest upholstery can be combined freely.

Specifications

The armchair is 73 x 66 x 73 cm (KW_2). It comes in fixed, swivel and swivel-with-return versions, and the sheet lists a swivel side table and a bag hook as accessories.

Story

The name and the shape

Kwado means "frog" in the Hausa language, and Cappellini presents the armchair as bold and playful. Sebastian Herkner strengthens his collaboration with the brand through it, using a play of solids and voids to give the strong lines a light yet dynamic effect.

A seat and a matching pouf

A complementary pouf is designed as the negative of the indentation that defines the seat. The page also describes a swivel side table and a bag hook as accessories, and offers colour and finish choices for the shell and the base.
