Overview
The Kobold classic Chaise longue arm left with armrest is a two-place chaise longue by Erwan Bouroullec for Ligne Roset. The Classic version of Kobold balances hyper comfort and posture, with a more vertical sitting position and a seat 40 cm high.
Construction
The seat frame is spruce plywood panels clad in an ash veneered MDF panel, and the armrests and back structure are ash veneered MDF clad in Bultex foam and polyester quilting. The base is stained ash, with black lacquered beech in the hidden areas. The seat combines pocket springs with Bultex high resilience polyurethane foam, and the back cushions are Bultex foam with goose feathers.
Specifications
Overall size: 2,070 x 970 x 710 mm (W x D x H). Seat height 400 mm, seats 2 places, weight 126.5 kg.
Story
Classic posture, hyper comfort
Kobold is a range of one-armed settees and daybeds conceived for urban lifestyles in which the sofa is multi-use: to sit formally or "wallow", eat or work, lie down and sleep. The Classic version is a balance between hyper comfort and posture, and its more vertical position invites interaction and socialisation.
Piping and stitching
Piping reinforces the "classic" and luxurious side of the model: double piping on the seat and back cushions, simple piping on the lumbar cushions and two satin stitches on the seat cushion. The model was conceived around better manufacturing with fewer materials and fewer resources, and with rigour in the forms.
