Story
From a prime minister's office
The design first came to Klint when he created a three-seater model for the office of Prime Minister Thorvald Stauning in 1930. Shown at the Copenhagen Cabinetmakers' Guild Exhibition in 1937, the original sofa was immediately praised by critics as "the best exponent of modern furniture design".
Anatomical measurements
The page says Klint is renowned for extensive anatomical measurements that formed the basis of all his furniture design. The crossbars under each section serve an aesthetic and a functional purpose: they give more room when seated and make it easier to get up.
