Story

A guild anniversary

Klint was invited to join the Guild's anniversary in 1935 and submitted a variety of designs to its celebratory competition under the title "Christmas 1934". The Easy Chair, with its loose, down-filled seat cushion, was among them.

Recognised construction

The page says the chair was universally recognised as having perfect construction and very balanced proportions, deliberate features of Klint's design philosophy, and was praised as a very modern contribution for its precise, tight lines. It was then produced for the Guild's 1937 Exhibition.
