Story
A block of green marble
At a quarry in Turkey that supplied Rosso Lepanto marble, a small, confined section of mountain took on a deep sage tone with darker green shades and the typical clear veining. Poltrona Frau discovered this block and asked Roberto Lazzeroni to design an object that would increase its value, and he drew a large top with rounded lines.
Two ovals, one table
The offset double-oval outline echoes in part the complementary shapes of yin and yang and in part an overturned 8, the symbol of endless perfection and prosperity, which gave the table its name. Each base is carved from a single block of white Carrara marble that a robotic arm mills and hands then finish, and its form opens outwards like a tree with its branches.
