Description

Overview

Hyg Chair is the dining chair of the Hyg series that Simon Legald designed for Normann Copenhagen. It was added to the series in 2020 and shares the organic curves of the lounge chairs.

Construction

The shell is high-strength polypropylene, mounted with four screws and cups to a wooden base on the Black Oak version, or to a steel frame on the steel version.

Specifications

The Black Oak version with grey shell (604468) measures 84 x 54 x 53.5 cm with a seat height of 46 cm.

Story

Hygge at the dining table

Simon Legald designed the Hyg series around the Danish idea of hygge. The series began in 2018 with lounge seating, and in 2020 a chair and a barstool joined it with the same hearty, organic curves.

A shape sculpted for the body

Legald says a lot of effort went into sculpting the shape to give rest and support for the human body, with the dining chair meant to sit alongside the lounge pieces in coherent environments.
