Overview
Simon Legald's Hyg Barstool is the bar-height model in Normann Copenhagen's Hyg range. It joined the series in 2020 together with a chair.
Construction
The shell is pressed polypropylene, attached with four screws and cups, and the page lists Black Oak and steel bases. Shell only, front upholstery and full upholstery versions are listed.
Specifications
The 65 cm version in Black Oak with a grey shell (604392) measures 46.5 x 44 x 84 cm with a seat height of 65 cm.
Story
From lounge to bar height
Lounge seating came first in 2018, and a chair and this barstool followed in 2020. Normann Copenhagen says the added models carry over the organic curves of the lounge pieces.
Series idea
The manufacturer connects the series to the Danish idea of hygge, which it ties to security, warmth and comfort, and describes the curves as designed with a focus on sublime comfort.
