Description
Overview
The Homey Table is a dining table by GamFratesi, from 2022. It is compact and graphic, with light but volumetric lines, and its legs carry either a wooden or a marble top.
Construction
- Legs: four legs and a frame, in a burnished or a titanium finish; each leg starts from an elliptical section with a channel that emphasises its edge, runs the full height and ends in a spiral
- Leg detail: the two flaps of each leg fold and join without touching, and open slightly at the top to become the shelf that supports the top
- Feet: plastic tips with interchangeable ends
- Wooden top: birch plywood panel veneered on both faces in moka-stained ash, with a contoured edge in solid moka-stained ash
- Marble top: brilliant or semi-brilliant finish, resting on an 8 mm black HPL laminate undermount
Specifications
- Overall size: 150 x 150 x 73 cm (square, marble top, 5681661)
Story
Leg flaps and chiaroscuro
GamFratesi built Homey around its legs. Each leg is made of two flaps that fold and join together without touching, and the gap between them creates a chiaroscuro effect in the centre. The gesture is a stylistic exercise that recalls the workmanship of leather, the material Poltrona Frau chooses first.
A table about the home
The table aims to shine a renewed light on the value of the home and the centrality of its role in domestic settings increasingly attentive to sharing. Homey introduces a more contemporary design language for a warm and welcoming home.
