Description
Overview
High-Wave is an upholstered bed designed by Hannes Wettstein for Molteni&C in 2007. Molteni&C describes a balance of classic elegance and ergonomic comfort, expressed through clean sculptural curves, a softly padded headboard and a vertical cord detail.
Construction
The structure combines solid wood and multi-layered wooden panels with shaped polyurethane and double-layer velveteen. Inside the headrest, a metal framework with elastic straps is padded with polyurethane and cold-moulded foam. The external slipcovers are removable, while polished chrome feet complete the bed.

Story
Architecture for rest
Molteni&C presents High-Wave as Hannes Wettstein's architecture for rest. The design joins classic shape and proportions with ergonomic comfort, using the padded headboard and its vertical cord to give the upholstered volume a distinct focal detail.
From sleep to reading
The headboard conceals a mechanism with two positions. Its movement changes the support from a resting arrangement to an upright posture intended for reading or relaxation, bringing the bed's functional idea directly into its silhouette. The optional storage container adds another practical layer beneath the slatted base.
