Description

Overview

Headway Conference Tables integrate meeting technology within configurable table forms. Herman Miller offers seated and standing heights, four top shapes, and either a Y base or cabinet base.

Technology integration

Narrow bases route cables from floor to surface, while cabinet legs can house third-party components. Surface cutouts provide access to power, data, and retractors; removable panels and concealed routes allow equipment to be changed without cutting the table.

Representative dimensions

The seated oval Y-base configuration ranges to 144 inches wide, 54 inches deep, and 28.5 inches high. Other configurations extend to 240 inches wide, and standing Y-base versions are listed at 42 inches high.

Story

Research around conference technology

Herman Miller developed Headway after interviewing conference-table users and observing the IT teams responsible for installing equipment. The research showed how improvised surface cuts and added holes could damage both the appearance and function of conventional tables.

Technology within the table

The response was a system of removable mounting panels, spacious cabinet legs, hollow supports, and concealed cable routes. These elements allow power, data, retractors, and third-party components to be integrated while the visible table retains a continuous, coordinated appearance.
