Haven Armchair

Overview

Haven is an armchair designed by Yabu Pushelberg in 2026 for Living Divani. Its seat and backrest are suspended between the armrests, a combination of precision and lightness in an unexpected gesture aimed at creating a private refuge.

Construction

The seat frame is lacquered steel with a suspension of coated-rubber elastic straps, cross-woven, under polyurethane foam padding. The backrest frame is poplar plywood with the same strap suspension, padded in differentiated-density polyurethane foam and covered with a polyester fibre lining that is needle-treated and resin-coated, bonded to a polyamide velveteen backing. The sides come in two versions. In the padded version they are 45 mm thick fir honeycomb panel and wood fibre panels under a 100% polyether lining. In the wooden version they are 45 mm MDF veneered in charcoal-dyed oak, Stone Oak® with a water-based coating, or tobacco-dyed oak or multilayer Striped Grey veneer with an acrylic coating. The backrest and seat are secured to the sides with screws and bayonet-type fittings, and plastic tips support the chair on the floor.

Two kinds of sides

The sides are the part that changes between versions. The padded version has a polyether lining over velveteen, and the wooden version has a 45 mm MDF panel in veneered oak or Striped Grey. Both versions fit the backrest and seat to the sides with screws and bayonet-type fittings.
