Description

Overview

Lanai is a bed system designed by Yabu Pushelberg. It is a night area conceived as a complete space for relaxation, with modular elements layered together and padded volumes balanced by straight, geometric lines.

Construction

The bed has a headboard in veneered wood and wood derivatives with single-density moulded flexible polyurethane padding, a polyester-fibre pre-cover; the outer covering comes off and is either fabric or leather. The bed base is veneered wood and wood derivatives with a perimeter frame in solid wood. A shelf and a drawer are optional, and the poufs have a veneered wood and wood derivatives structure with polyurethane padding of differentiated densities and a fabric or leather outer covering that comes off.

Story

A night area for the whole day

With Lanai, Yabu Pushelberg rethinks the bed as more than a single piece of furniture and treats the night area as a complete space for relaxation and personal time. The project is inspired by the contemporary bedroom, which increasingly becomes a space to be lived in throughout the day.

Layers and padded volumes

Lanai expands the bed's functions with modular elements layered like a natural landscape. The padded volumes also draw inspiration from nature and are balanced by straight, geometric lines.
